Kansas City is one of those places where there's always some kind of 'cheat code' — this is it. Each place is one we personally love, whether it's the hospitality, a cocktail, a bite, or something most tourists won't quite understand. We hope you get to journey to some of these amazing spaces, and while you're there, ask someone where they'd go (and shoot us those recommendations, we love hearing about new places) .

A Great Place for Cocktails

Goat & Rabbit

Located along Kansas City's historic 39th Street corridor, this is one of our favorite places to slow down and enjoy a great cocktail. The atmosphere feels cozy, intimate, and effortlessly local with dim lighting, thoughtful drinks, and the kind of energy that makes you want to stay awhile.

Distance: About a 5-minute drive · Walkable: Technically yes, but we'd recommend driving or Uber/Lyft.
Pro Tip: Their espresso martinis are a local favorite.

Sagebrush

Located west of Linea, Sagebrush is one of our favorite nearby cocktail spots when we want something relaxed, intimate, and a little different from the usual Kansas City bar scene. The space pulls inspiration from desert tones and agave culture.

Distance: About a 6–8 minute drive west · Walkable: Not recommended.
Pro Tip: If you enjoy mezcal, ask the bartenders what they're excited about right now.

Fern Bar KC

Located east of Linea in the Crossroads area, Fern Bar is one of our favorite places for cocktails that feel playful, creative, and a little transportive. The space blends lush greenery, moody lighting, and an atmosphere that somehow feels both vibrant and relaxed at the same time.

Pro Tip: Fern gets busy later in the evening, especially on weekends.

Percheron

Percheron, the rooftop hotspot at Crossroads Hotel, this is one of our favorite spots when we want cocktails in a space that feels distinctly Kansas City.

Brix Cantina - Westport

Located east of Linea in the heart of Westport, Brix Cantina is one of our favorite spots when we're craving great margaritas, fresh guacamole, and a fun night out. We especially love their hidden speakeasy, Clandestino.

Pro Tip: Start upstairs with chips, guac, and margaritas, then head into Clandestino Speakeasy.

The Belfry

Located east of Linea in the Crossroads neighborhood, The Belfry is one of our favorite cocktail spots when we want something that feels intimate, relaxed, and effortlessly cool. Part of the Belfry Collective, alongside Gerard's Pool Hall, Ground Control, and Wolf Den.

John Brown Underground

Located west of Linea in downtown Lawrence, Kansas, John Brown Underground is absolutely worth the drive and one of our favorite cocktail experiences anywhere in the Kansas City area. The cocktails here are worth the drive alone.

Pro Tip: Plan an entire evening around Lawrence instead of just one stop.

Sightseeing

Crossroads

Located east of Linea, the Crossroads is one of our favorite neighborhoods to spend an afternoon or evening exploring. This area blends Kansas City's creative energy with some of the city's best restaurants, cocktail bars, coffee shops, galleries, and nightlife all within a few walkable blocks. Historic warehouse buildings have been transformed into cafés, boutiques, cocktail lounges, local shops, breweries, and art spaces while still holding onto the neighborhood's original industrial character.

Distance: About a 10–12 minute drive east · Walkable: No to get there, but very walkable once you arrive.
Pro Tip: If you're visiting on a First Friday weekend, expect the neighborhood to be especially lively with art galleries, pop-ups, and live music. Rideshare is often easiest since parking fills quickly.

Old Westport

Located east of Linea, Westport is one of Kansas City's most historic and energetic neighborhoods. During the evenings, especially on weekends, the area can become pretty lively and rowdy, but during the day it's one of our favorite neighborhoods to explore for coffee, food, shopping, and people watching. We love hopping between spots like Westport Cafe, Harry's Bar & Tables, Kelly's Westport Inn, and Chewology. One of the best parts is how easy it is to connect to the KC Streetcar afterward — park once, explore Westport, then hop on the streetcar downtown completely free.

Distance: About a 7–10 minute drive east · Walkable: Not really to get there, but very walkable once you arrive.
Pro Tip: Daytime and early evenings are our favorite way to experience Westport. Use the free KC Streetcar afterward to explore Crossroads, Power & Light, and River Market.

Massachusetts Street (Lawrence, KS)

Located west of Linea in downtown Lawrence, Kansas, "Mass Street" is one of our favorite quick getaways from Kansas City. The entire street is lined with local restaurants, cocktail bars, coffee shops, bookstores, vintage stores, music venues, and small businesses that make Lawrence feel incredibly vibrant and alive without losing its laid-back college-town charm. It's one of those places where you can spend hours just wandering without much of a plan.

Distance: About a 40–45 minute drive west · Walkable: No, a destination outing — but Mass Street itself is extremely walkable once you arrive.
Pro Tip: Don't over-plan your Lawrence trip. Ask bartenders, servers, or shop owners where they personally like to go — the local recommendations there are usually incredible.

The West Bottoms

Located just northeast of Linea, the West Bottoms is an up-and-coming district that's become one of our favorite areas to check out. The Campground is a great spot with amazing creative cocktails, yummy food, and a great chill vibe. The Lowest Fern also puts on some really cool activations during the weekends — we'd highly recommend checking their social media before heading out, since things change from weekend to weekend.

Pro Tip: Ask for Jake when you go to The Campground and tell him we said hello!

River Market

Located north of Linea, the River Market is another fun staple of Kansas City. During the weekend, the City Market comes alive with farm-fresh, local goods, an occasional vintage market, great food, and a genuinely cool area to just walk around. You can hop on the KC Streetcar from anywhere on Main Street and ride it all the way down — the streetcar itself is completely free. You can also take it further down to the riverfront.

Distance: About a 12-minute drive north · Walkable: No, but very walkable once you're there.
Pro Tip: Check for parking signs when you arrive — there's free street parking nearby, while the River Market's own lots are paid.

Coffee... Coffee... COFFEE!!!

Café Corazón

Located east of Linea in Westport, Café Corazón is one of our favorite daytime spots in Kansas City. The space is warm, colorful, and deeply rooted in Latin and Indigenous culture with incredible coffee, yerba mate, empanadas, and one of the most welcoming atmospheres in the city. It feels personal, community-centered, and genuinely unique. They also have a Crossroads location that tends to feel a bit more lively, especially during busier weekends and mornings.

Distance: About a 7–10 minute drive east · Walkable: Not really, but a great area to walk around once you're there.
Pro Tip: Try one of their specialty Latin-inspired espresso drinks or traditional yerba mate if you want something different from the usual coffee shop.

Oddly Correct Coffee Bar

Located east of Linea in the Crossroads area, Oddly Correct is hands-down one of our favorite coffee spots in Kansas City and a place that has heavily inspired the coffee experience inside Linea itself. The space feels minimalist, intentional, and deeply focused on quality without ever feeling intimidating. One of our personal favorites is their hot Bourbon Vanilla Latte — rich, balanced, and comforting. And if they happen to have the biscuit sandwiches available, especially the sausage, egg, and jam biscuit — get one immediately.

Oddly Correct is actually one of our partners — their beans are what you'll find brewing during your stay at Linea, and they're also available to purchase through our online market.

Pro Tip: Mornings can get busy, especially on weekends. Arriving earlier usually means the best pastry and breakfast sandwich selection before they sell out.

Health and Wellness

Wild Yonder

Located southwest of Linea, Wild Yonder Wellness is one of our absolute favorite places in Kansas City to completely reset and recharge. The moment you walk in, the entire experience feels intentional, calming, and deeply restorative without feeling overly clinical. Steven has massages on monthly rotation with Michael, who is incredibly talented — though truly every therapist here is amazing. The hand-blended hot teas and curated infused water are such a thoughtful touch and make the entire visit feel even more grounding.

Pro Tip: Book appointments as far in advance as possible, especially for Michael. Arrive a little early to enjoy the tea and slower pace before your session.

Hand & Land

Located east of Linea near Gillham and Linwood in Midtown, Hand & Land is one of our favorite shops in Kansas City for thoughtfully curated home goods, ceramics, fragrances, books, gifts, and beautifully made everyday objects. The space feels calm, inspiring, and intentionally collected. Owned by Jess and Nicole, it's right next door to their restaurant, Billie's Grocery, which we also highly recommend — check the pastry cooler, and if available, order the Korean fried chicken sandwich.

Pro Tip: Plan a little extra time here — it's one of those spaces where you keep discovering things the longer you wander. Billie's next door makes this one of our favorite slow Kansas City mornings.

Brewski Me, Dawg!

Vine Street Brewing Co.

Located east of Linea in Kansas City's historic 18th & Vine Jazz District, Vine Street Brewing is one of the most meaningful brewery experiences in the city. As Missouri's first Black-owned brewery, the space beautifully blends Kansas City culture, music, history, and community into something that feels much bigger than just grabbing a beer. Being located in the 18th & Vine district makes the experience feel deeply connected to Kansas City's jazz and Black cultural history.

Distance: About a 12–15 minute drive east · Walkable: No, a driving or rideshare destination.
Pro Tip: Make time to explore the surrounding 18th & Vine area, including the nearby jazz and cultural landmarks. Their beer menu rotates often, so trying a flight is usually the best move.

Alma Mader Brewing

Located east of Linea near Southwest Boulevard, Alma Mader is one of our favorite brewery experiences for people who genuinely love craft beer and intentional spaces. The atmosphere feels clean, industrial, relaxed, and very Kansas City without trying too hard. Even if you're not a huge "beer person," the space still feels approachable and welcoming rather than overwhelming.

Pro Tip: If you enjoy IPAs or specialty craft beers, ordering a flight is the best way to experience what they do well. They regularly release limited small-batch beers.

Boulevard Brewing Company

One of the most iconic Kansas City experiences, Boulevard Brewing is a place we almost always recommend to first-time visitors. Located east of Linea near Southwest Boulevard, Boulevard has been part of Kansas City culture for decades and still feels like a true local staple. We especially love the Tours & Rec Center and Beer Hall experience — incredible skyline views and a huge rotating beer selection. Nick's go-to is always the Space Camper, while Steven almost always ends up ordering a Tank 7.

Pro Tip: Head upstairs to the Beer Hall patio for some of the best skyline views in Kansas City. Reserve brewery tours ahead of time on weekends.

City Barrel Brewery + Kitchen

Located east of Linea in the Crossroads neighborhood, City Barrel is one of our favorite brewery spots when we want great beer paired with genuinely good food and a lively atmosphere. The space feels modern, energetic, and social while still holding onto that creative Crossroads character. If you see Rad AF on tap, absolutely order it — one of our all-time favorites and a beer we still talk about long after leaving.

Pro Tip: Great place to combine dinner and drinks in one stop. The beer list rotates often, so don't be afraid to ask for recommendations or sample pours.

Wine Not!

Vintner

Located south of Linea in Westwood, Vintner is one of our favorite newer wine spots in the Kansas City area. The entire space feels approachable, relaxed, and intentionally free of the "wine snob" energy that can sometimes come with wine bars. Their focus on sustainably farmed and thoughtfully selected wines really comes through, and the rotating flights make it easy to try something new.

Pro Tip: Order a wine flight if you're not sure where to start. They regularly host tasting events and wine classes if you happen to catch one during your stay.

Tannin Wine Bar & Kitchen

Located east of Linea in the Crossroads neighborhood, Tannin is one of our favorite spots for a slower, more elevated evening in Kansas City. The atmosphere feels warm, intimate, and approachable with an incredible wine program that never feels stuffy. We especially love their espresso martinis and apps — order from the wine book instead of just the menu, since there's usually something special tucked into the deeper selections. And if Brooke or Barry is there, you're in excellent hands.

Pro Tip: This is one of our favorite places to split several appetizers and slowly work through a bottle or wine flight. Don't rush the experience here.

Food Scene

Extra Virgin

Located east of Linea in the Crossroads neighborhood, Extra Virgin and its sister restaurant Farina hold an incredibly special place in our hearts. These are actually some of the places where Steven truly developed into a hospitality professional and learned firsthand how meaningful genuine relationships and thoughtful service can be. A huge part of what Linea is today is rooted in those experiences. Extra Virgin leans vibrant, social, and energetic with incredible tapas, cocktails, and one of our favorite patios in Kansas City.

Pro Tip: Amazing for sharing multiple small plates and cocktails with friends. If you can, experience both Extra Virgin and Farina during your stay.

Farina

Located east of Linea in the Crossroads neighborhood, Farina is one of our favorite places in Kansas City for an elevated dinner experience that still feels warm, personal, and incredibly inviting. This newer venture from Michael and Nancy has quickly become one of the city's standout dining experiences. Their raw bar is absolutely top notch, the handmade pastas are incredible, and the wine program is one of our favorites in the city.

Distance: About a 10–12 minute drive east · Walkable: No.
Pro Tip: Always sit at the bar if you can. Some of the best conversations and recommendations happen there.

The Antler Room

Located east of Linea in Union Hill, The Antler Room is one of our favorite restaurants in Kansas City for a more intimate and ingredient-driven dining experience. The menu feels incredibly thoughtful and seasonal with dishes that are creative, balanced, and approachable. The food here leans heavily into shareable plates, handmade pastas, fresh vegetables, and beautifully layered flavors that somehow still feel comforting.

Pro Tip: When dining here with four or more people, order almost the entire menu plus a few desserts — it turns into one of the best multi-course experiences in the city.

Westport Cafe

Located east of Linea in the heart of Westport, Westport Cafe is one of our favorite neighborhood spots for cocktails, brunch, happy hour, or a slower dinner that still feels lively and social. The atmosphere blends French-inspired café energy with classic Kansas City warmth. You can stop in for espresso martinis and appetizers, brunch with friends, oysters and wine at the bar, or a full dinner that naturally stretches into a longer evening.

Pro Tip: Sitting at the bar is always one of our favorite ways to experience Westport Café.

Il Lazzarone Pizza

Located east of Linea in the River Market neighborhood, Il Lazzarone is one of our favorite spots in Kansas City for Neapolitan-style pizza done incredibly well. The atmosphere feels casual, lively, and neighborhood-driven with wood-fired pizzas, great cocktails, and a dining room that always seems filled with good energy. Our personal favorites are the Bruxella and the pepperoni pizza — and the crust is SO good.

Pro Tip: Order a couple pizzas for the table instead of just one per person. Sharing is the move here.

Muni

Located east of Linea in the River Market neighborhood, Muni is one of our favorite cocktail and dinner spots when we want something that feels vibrant, social, and a little different from the usual Kansas City experience. The cocktails are genuinely excellent and always feel balanced, creative, and fun. And absolutely do not skip the grappow empanadas — a must-order every single time we go.

Pro Tip: A great place to share several dishes and cocktails with friends instead of sticking to individual meals.

Oil on Linen

Located east of Linea inside the beautiful Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art, Oil on Linen is one of our favorite brunch spots in Kansas City. The entire experience feels calm, artful, and intentional with natural light, modern interiors, and a setting that perfectly complements a slower morning or afternoon. There's something really special about pairing brunch with contemporary art and a quieter museum morning.

Pro Tip: Plan extra time to walk through the Kemper Museum before or after brunch. Admission is free.

Blackhole Bakery

Located east of Linea in the Midtown area, Blackhole Bakery is one of our favorite bakeries in Kansas City for mornings when you want something indulgent, comforting, and genuinely memorable. The space feels cozy, neighborhood-driven, and wonderfully unpretentious with pastries that somehow feel nostalgic and elevated at the same time. Their pastries rotate often, but we've never had anything there we didn't love.

Pro Tip: Go early. Popular pastries tend to sell out quickly, especially on weekends.

Meshuggah Bagels

Located east of Linea with multiple Kansas City locations, Meshuggah Bagels is one of our favorite breakfast and coffee stops when we want something casual, comforting, and consistently good. Their bagels are genuinely some of the best in Kansas City: chewy, flavorful, and perfectly balanced whether you keep it simple or go fully loaded with sandwiches and spreads.

Pro Tip: Don't overthink the order. A fresh toasted bagel with cream cheese and good coffee already hits perfectly.

Beirut Taco

Located along Kansas City's 39th Street corridor, Beirut Taco is one of our all-time favorites. Their Chicken Shawarma is kryptonite, and the Lebanese-Mexican fusion they've built here is genuinely mesmerizing — two cuisines that somehow feel like they were always meant to share a plate.

Pro Tip: They have an awesome happy hour, and DoorDash delivery to Linea is literally twenty minutes.

Panino Divino

Located along Kansas City's 39th Street corridor, Panino Divino makes their bread in house — need we say more? The Signor Panino and the Firenze Speciale are both insane, and rumor has it they have a wine window. While you're in the area, check out The Smalter Gallery just down the street.

Anjin

Located east of Linea in the Crossroads, Anjin is one of those places where you feel like showing off. The sister restaurant of The Antler Room, it's a cozy izakaya where Nick and I will just order everything, especially if there are more than two of us at the table. You genuinely can't go wrong with anything here. It's also been rated among the top 19 restaurants in the U.S. and is James Beard nominated.

Art & Culture

Blue Gallery

Located east of Linea in the Crossroads Arts District, Blue Gallery is one of our favorite contemporary art spaces in Kansas City. The gallery showcases a strong mix of regional and national artists with work that feels modern, approachable, and deeply connected to the creative energy of the city. Kelly and David are also great friends of ours and a huge part of why this space feels so special to us.

Pro Tip: If you visit during First Fridays, the entire Crossroads district transforms with open galleries, live music, and events.

Charlotte Street Foundation

Located just moments east of Linea, Charlotte Street Foundation is one of our favorite nearby creative spaces and an important part of Kansas City's contemporary art community. The organization supports emerging artists, exhibitions, performances, and creative programming that help keep Kansas City's art scene vibrant, independent, and deeply community-driven.

Distance: Just a few minutes east · Walkable: Not quite, but an incredibly quick drive or rideshare away.
Pro Tip: Check their programming calendar before visiting — some of the best experiences happen during special programming nights or artist-led events.

Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art

Located east of Linea near the Plaza area, Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art is one of our favorite places in Kansas City for a slower afternoon centered around art, architecture, conversation, and creativity. The exhibitions rotate regularly, and the overall atmosphere feels thoughtful, quiet, and inspiring. The museum is also home to Oil on Linen, which makes the entire experience even better.

Pro Tip: Admission is free. Give yourself extra time to slowly move through the galleries instead of rushing through the exhibits.

The Smalter Gallery

Located east of Linea on 39th Street, The Smalter Gallery is one of our favorite smaller gallery experiences in Kansas City. The space feels intimate, approachable, and deeply connected to the local creative community with rotating exhibitions and artwork that often feel personal, thoughtful, and conversation-driven.

Distance: About a 5–7 minute drive east · Walkable: Not really.
Pro Tip: Pair this with a slower 39th Street afternoon or evening — a great area for bouncing between coffee, cocktails, food, and local creative spaces.

The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art

Located east of Linea near the Plaza area, Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art is one of the true gems of Kansas City. The museum blends world-class art, stunning architecture, peaceful sculpture gardens, and beautifully curated galleries in a way that feels both inspiring and incredibly approachable. It works for almost any kind of day — hours slowly wandering through galleries, sitting outside on the lawn with coffee, or exploring the sculpture park.

Pro Tip: Admission to the main museum is free. If the weather's nice, spend extra time outside around the sculpture lawn and the iconic shuttlecocks.

So, André's… What is there to NOT like about chocolate! If you've enjoyed the Chocolate Candied Orange Peels upon arrival and need more, here's the spot to find their other offerings. We also have them on our Online Apothecary also for purchase. They have decent lunch also, but the chocolate is to die for!
